About Kern Place

Kern Place was developed beginning around 1914 by Peter E. Kern, who envisioned it as El Paso’s first “garden suburb,” complete with curving streets, parks, and a decorative entrance gate. The neighborhood flourished into one of El Paso’s most distinctive and enduring historic communities, known for its eclectic architecture and strong sense of character.
